NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY Conducted on our college

Celebrating National Science Day at SJCIT, Chickkaballapura

Introduction

Hello fellow science enthusiasts! As a proud student of Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekaranatha Swamiji Institute of Technology (SJCIT) in Chickkaballapura, I am thrilled to share our exhilarating celebration of National Science Day. Buckle up for a journey into the captivating world of science and discovery!

What is National Science Day?

National Science Day, observed annually on February 28th, commemorates the ground breaking discovery made by the legendary Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman. On this momentous day in 1928, Sir Raman unveiled the Raman Effect, a phenomenon in spectroscopy that revolutionized our understanding of light scattering. His remarkable work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, making him the first Asian scientist to receive this prestigious honour.

SJCIT’s Vibrant Celebrations

At SJCIT, we wear our scientific curiosity like a badge of honour. Our National Science Day celebrations are a delightful blend of knowledge-sharing, hands-on experiments, and sheer enthusiasm. Let’s dive into the highlights of this year’s event:

Inauguration and Keynote Address: The festivities commenced with an inspiring keynote address by the Physics Prof. , an esteemed physicist and an alumna of SJCIT.  shared her insights on the importance of curiosity-driven research and encouraged students to explore beyond textbooks.

Science Exhibition: Our campus buzzed with excitement as students set up captivating science exhibits. From solar-powered gadgets to 3D-printed models, the creativity on display was awe-inspiring. Visitors marveled at the ingenuity of our budding scientists.

Interactive Workshops: Workshops on topics like nanotechnology, robotics, and environmental conservation engaged students in hands-on learning. Participants tinkered with microcontrollers, built mini-robots, and discussed sustainable practices.

Science Quiz: The competitive spirit soared during the science quiz. Teams battled it out, answering questions ranging from fundamental physics to recent breakthroughs. The winners received accolades and a deeper appreciation for scientific trivia.

Guest Lectures: Eminent scientists from research institutions and industries graced our event. Their talks covered diverse fields, including quantum computing, biotechnology, and space exploration. Students eagerly interacted with these luminaries, seeking career advice and inspiration.

Sky watching Night: As the sun dipped below the horizon, telescopes were set up on our campus grounds. Students and faculty gathered to observe celestial wonders—the moon’s craters, distant planets, and star clusters. It was a magical night under the vast cosmos.

Conclusion

National Science Day at SJCIT is more than an event; it’s a celebration of curiosity, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. As we continue our scientific journey, let’s remember Sir C. V. Raman’s words: “The essence of science is independent thinking, hard work, and not equipment.” 🚀
